The year 2010-2011 was ChangeAware's most successful, interesting and challenging year so far. Work since 2005 has included:
Facilitation of a vast range of teambuilding sessions: integration of new members, conflict resolution, planning sessions. Teams across all technical areas of international development, humanitarian sector and UK charities: media, campaigns and advocacy, international programmes, HIV. Conferences, e.g. People in Aid Emergency HR Conference on Organisational Change (May 09)
Consultancies: e.g. after action review for humanitarian consortium involving desk research, meeting facilitation and final report (Dec 10). Consultancy to deliver sustainable change and integrate learning processes into a livelihoods and advocacy programme working with 17,000 farmers in Malawi (Apr 10 & ongoing).
Facilitation of strategic thinking and planning for range of organisations, involving staff, management teams and boards; oversight of strategic planning as trustee/chair.
Facilitation of peer learning for half a dozen BOND programme managers’ groups (1-2 per years), and for HR Managers of Europe Zone of International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent. Action learning set for directors of small NGOs (2009-10)
Design and delivery of 2-day Facilitation Skills Course – for the 17th time at Tearfund, Feb 11; Jan 11 for The Partnering Initiative; previously for ChildHope, CARE International UK, BOND (internally for staff and as featured course), WaterAid and independently.
Establishing Communities of Practice: on Power, Governance and Pastoralism for Oxfam GB in East Africa (2010-11); for Action Against Hunger on Advocacy; for CARE IUK on Gender; for CAFOD on HIV.
Evaluations: (a) of Comic Relief project in child rights, participation and protection, Tamil Nadu, SE India Jan 2010. The external assessor wrote that the evaluation was “creative, innovative and engaging and should be seen as an example of best practice”; (b) CARE International DFID PPA funded programme to mobilise against sex and gender based violence in Great Lakes countries (April 2008); (c) CARE International DFID PPA funded programme to increase citizen access to healthcare in Malawi (April 2007)
